Julian Copeman named General Manager

Cadman Sporting, a UK-based country sports outfitter, which is backed by investment from the multinational alternative investment firm, Cadman Capital Group, today announced the appointment of Julian Copeman as General Manager.

Cadman Sporting, which has experienced substantial growth within the UK sporting sector over recent years, encompasses three core businesses, Barby Sporting – a clay pigeon shooting ground located on the Northamptonshire and Warwickshire border and two dedicated gun shops – Northampton Gun and Rugby Gun.

Julian Copeman, who developed an interest in country sports at a very young age due to his father’s involvement in land management around the Northamptonshire countryside, has, to date, enjoyed a 20 year career in the industry, which has seen him work at some of the most prestigious names in UK shooting, including Honesberie Shooting School, and most recently, the well-renowned E.J. Churchill.

In the role of General Manager, Julian will capitalise on his previous experience to oversee the day-to-day running of Barby Sporting and will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of both the shooting ground and the two shops. Julian’s personal passion for the sport, particularly rifle shooting and deer stalking, coupled with his 15 years of coaching experience, underpins his dedication to and knowledge of the industry.

Commenting on the appointment, Giles Cadman, Chairman of the Cadman Capital Group and field sports enthusiast said: “Julian’s experience and country sports knowledge is a great addition to the Cadman Sporting team, allowing him to take ownership of the company’s strategic direction as we continue to expand and build on our previous growth. We are excited to work with someone who has not only dedicated their career to the country sports industry, but also much of their free time. We believe that passion is a key driver for success.”
