Northampton, UK (19 May 2021) – Cadman Sporting, a dedicated country sports outfitter, which is backed by investment from the privately-owned, independent private equity firm Cadman Capital Group, has expanded its footprint by opening a new, Midlands-based gun shop, as well as launching a new and improved e-commerce website (www.cadmansporting.com).

The new gun shop, Barby Gun, is located in Rugby and is situated on the same site as the business’ CPSA-registered clay pigeon shooting ground – Barby Sporting. The new shop is the fourth under Cadman Sporting’s ownership as it joins Northampton Gun, Rugby Gun and Whittlesey Gun Shop to provide local country sports enthusiasts with access to everything from guns and equipment to country clothing, footwear and accessories.

Taking Cadman Sporting nationwide, the launch of the comprehensive e-commerce platform allows customers across the UK to access all the gun shops have to offer and more. Users are able to browse latest new and used gun listings from top industry names, as well as order ammunition and reloading accessories for local store pick up from its own stores, as well as nominated Registered Firearms Dealer’s across the UK. In addition, the website stocks a huge array of shooting clothing, countrywear, footwear and accessories from well renowned brands, with direct-to-door delivery available. It also features a dedicated area providing information and booking details for Barby Sporting and its new, on-site, purpose-built air gun range.

Commenting on the expansion, Matt Deary, General Manager of the Cadman Capital Group’s Lifestyle Portfolio, of which Cadman Sporting forms part of, said: “For a long time we’ve wanted to create a place where country sports enthusiasts are able to satisfy all of their countrywear and shooting needs in one convenient location. Opening the new store on the same site as our clay pigeon shooting ground and air gun range means those visiting can purchase equipment and participate in their favourite sports without having to travel further afield. In addition, the launch of our new website allows us to expand that offering geographically, giving all country sports enthusiasts across the UK access to our huge range. With the drastic shift to online purchasing now more prominent than ever, this felt like the ideal time to launch the new arm of our business, especially as things begin to open up and country sports enthusiasts get back to spending time in the field and doing what they love.”

Giles Cadman, Chairman of the Cadman Capital Group and passionate country sportsman added: “As a country sportsman and keen gun myself, it’s always been an aim of mine to bring an opportunity such as this to market. In line with our strategy to create a well-known, branded offer that fulfils the needs of those who enjoy a country lifestyle, we will continue to look for opportunities in this niche and fragmented market, with the aim of growing Cadman Sporting further both in terms of size and offer.”

This expansion comes after Cadman Sporting announced its purchase of Whittlesey Gun Shop in March of this year, the first business outside of the Midlands to join its portfolio.
