Giles has a wealth of international business experience across a variety of alternative asset classes including property, aquaculture and wine. Throughout his 30-year career in the alternative investment space, Giles has gained experience across all elements of business, from the creation of start-ups to the acquisition of more established enterprises.
With over 15 years of executive-level management experience across multiple sectors and organizational sizes, James has developed an extensive knowledge of operational business experience, as well as expertise in M&A, due diligence and value creation. He has held senior appointments at several globally renowned companies including COO with leading UK hygiene services provider, PHS Group; Commercial, Procurement & Supply Chain Director for a division of Travis Perkins, the UK's largest builders' merchants, as well as a number of roles for the world's leading global integrated security company, G4S including CEO for G4S Cash Solutions UK, and Group Strategy & Development Director for a G4S Global Division.
Underpinned by his extensive experience in financial management and the knowledge gained through his previous roles at a range of global companies including XPO, Joules, Paperlinx and Fisher Scientific, John joined the Group in 2019 to implement improved financial control systems across the business. His primary focuses are on financial reporting, fund reporting for the Real Estate and Food and Beverages portfolios, the financial integration of the UK acquired businesses and ensuring fiscal discipline throughout. His skills in negotiation, business planning, management and operations make him a core part of the Group’s leadership team.
Michael King, MA (CANTAB)
Mike joined the Cadman Capital Group in 2004, following a successful career in wine operations and wine trade logistics, with a primary focus on purchasing and supply chain solutions. Now benefitting from over 30 years of operational experience, Mike’s role within the Group has developed from the management of the fine wine portfolio, to include many responsibilities such as the deployment of Group capital, financial management and the creation of operational strategies. Playing a key role in the Group’s senior team, Mike contributes greatly to the achievement of Group goals and objectives. He is fluent in three foreign languages and received his MA degree in Mathematics from Cambridge University, where his interest in fine wine was cultivated as a member of the Cambridge University Wine Society and Blind Tasting team.
Asha Winterflood-Rivers, MRICS
Following a background in commercial real estate fund management, including experience as Real Estate Fund Manager for globally-renowned Aviva, Asha joined the Group in 2019, bringing with her over 20 years’ experience in the commercial real estate investment industry. Asha has previously outperformed industry benchmarks for Funds valued in excess of £500m and has experience looking after portfolios boasting £1bn of assets. Working across projects comprised of multiple sectors, Asha’s previous projects have been located throughout the UK and have featured varying lot sizes from £2m to £50m. Within Group, Asha’s primary objective is to grow the AUM within Real Estate. She is focused on creating several funds to provide investors with various risk profile options, whilst expanding the Group’s current property portfolio. Asha has a Bsc (Hons) in Urban Estate Management and a full UKSIP Investment Management Certificate. She is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Investment Property Forum.
Dr Nik Sachlikidis
Managing Director of Aquaculture
Nik is one of the world’s leading aquaculture and fisheries experts, bringing more than 20 years of practical experience in the government and commercial fisheries and aquaculture sectors. He has previously held a range of scientific leadership roles in industry-science based partnerships focused on the development of lobster aquaculture techniques and technology and has worked in aid programs throughout South-East Asia. Nik was hired by American restaurant-giant Darden to lead the build and operation of a lobster hatchery in Malaysia and was later appointed Director of Science for the group. In his role at the Cadman Capital Group, Nik is responsible for the implementation of the Group’s aquaculture sustainability agenda and strategy, with the development of additional aquaculture products, farms, and hatcheries as a priority.
Marketing Director and General Manager of Lifestyle
Keith is an experienced strategic marketer, boasting over 25 years of professional marketing knowledge. With a background covering multiple retail and FMCG sectors, Keith’s previous positions include senior roles at a number of renowned blue chip and FT100 companies including McDonalds, HP Foods, Homebase and Greene King Pubs and Brewing. Keith has a strong track record of managing multiple brands and multi-million-pound budgets, bringing with him expertise across branding and insights, advertising, media and digital marketing management. Since joining the team in 2019, Keith has overseen all aspects of the Group’s marketing plans and is instrumental in the planning and execution of the value creation strategy, drawing upon experience that has seen him operate across multiple sectors within the UK. In addition to his marketing duties, Keith also has operational oversight for all of the lifestyle businesses and is focused on growing the portfolio both organically and through acquisition.
General Manager of Wine Portfolio
With a passion for wine and a wealth of wine trade experience, James joined the Cadman Capital Group in 2021 to further build on his career in wine buying and logistics. Having held previous wine buying roles at Tesco, one of the UK’s major supermarkets, as well as numerous positions at specialist wine giant, Majestic, James’ broad exposure to the wine trade has allowed him to gain ample industry knowledge and develop a deep understanding of the commercials behind the industry. Within Group, James’ key focus is to build the structures and processes needed to achieve growth across our wine portfolio, by strengthening our offering and supplying customers with great wines at great prices.
